[pchelpers] internet keeps cutting out


Hi Folks:  All day my  isp was on and off when I called the cable company
they reported no down outages in my area-- its odd because I went to run--
typed cmd-- then ipconfig it had  the correct ip address but I still could
not download my email -- without the box coming up saying server could not
be found. I am running windows 2000 professional with a firewall  using The
Tiny Personal Firewall ever since I installed win 2000, also the latest
Norton Antivirus Professional I checked the mail accounts properties and
they are okay. I even did a total virus scan and that came up clean.

 I checked my Ethernet card pulled it out and put in back in the lights in
the back of the tower are working, I reset my cable modem and all 4 lights
are on, receive is blinking and that's good.  I am using iexplorer 6.0 and
Outlook Express and it says too server could not be found I tried Opera too
and the same thing for that browser too. I haven't changed my security level
its the same on the iexplorer . I even scan disked and defragged. I checked
the CMOS to see if anything was changed its okay. I closed my firewall and
disabled my antivirus  to see if  it might be the cause and no change.   My
computer is running fine except I keep losing the internet I am baffled.
