Control Panel, Add/Remove Programs, Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.5 and
Internet Tools.  When you select this, then click the Add/Remove button,
another window opens that has two options: Add a Component and Repair
Internet Explorer.

When I did this at work I did NOT lose any history, favourites, email or
anything but I did lose my network (wingate) proxy settings but these were
real easy to put back as I knew what they should be.
