These are exotic only in the sense that they are rarely seen nowadays
by Windows users.

ARC is the original standard for compressing a number of files into a
single archive.  The vendor of the original ARC program sued PKWARE
for copyright infringement.  PKWare then created the ZIP format and
released it into the public domain, and created PKZIP.  When Windows
became popular, WinZip jumped in with a Windows-compatible version
before PKWare could, and has been on top ever since.

UUE is one of the standard compression formats for file attachments.

RPM and DEB are distribution packages for several dialects of Linux.
