I've been watching this thread and still don't have the answer - except for
this bit,

This tells me that the disk drive is larger than the bios can handle (why
else would you use EZDRIVE?)

I have seen the same thing when trying to fit a 2.1 gig drive in an old 486
that only supports up to 512 meg.
The problem is with the W98 install.  I used W95 because it works better
with older computers (486).

When I did it, I had to copy all the floppy install files onto the hard disk
then run the Windows install from there because the windows floppy install
formats the drive and removes some of the ezdrive stuff.

At least, I think that was it - it was a couple of years ago!  The only
thing I do really remember is that the machine is still running fine!
