Several years ago I set up a simple web page or two for
a friend. The domain name is Welshlumber.com. The
site is at Pair.com. Three of the principals at the
company have email addresses as firstone@xxxxxxx,
secondone@xxxxxxx, thirdone@xxxxxxxx So, they connect
to AOL to do their things. Now I guess they are going to expedia.com,
or at least for email. They are getting away from AOL
I have been asked to get them three email addresses which
will become firstone@xxxxxxxxxxx, secondone@xxxxxxxxxxx,
and thirdone@xxxxxxxxxxxx They will continue to use Pair.com
for housing their site with Welshlumber.com as the domain name.
My friend tells me they want to go to expedia for their email as
expedia has a T1 line going into their building. I remember something
about the incoming [POP] server, "pop" and outgoing[SMTP] server,
"smtp" that is part of setting up email, but not much more.
I can't even think of the right question to ask, or who to ask, i.e. do I
ask my friends if
they are going to use Outlook Express, or do I try to get them set up
through
my contacting expedia.com..
I'm having a real senior moment. Can someone point me in the right
direction,
a road map, whatever?

Good advice is like good paint- it only works if applied.
