[pchelpers] editing dos in Window 2000

Hi :
I got a big surprise I was doing some editing-in the registry- in
another person's computer, then I went into the dos-(different windows) - I
saw a huge amount of TypedUrls -- everywhere this person went was recorded
even when he deleted history, his cache, cookies etc, They are still on his
hard drive. It was taking a lot of room by the time I was finished I was
able to clean out a lot of stuff 5 gigs of stuff just editing dos, also
too, old email boxes from different programs that he deleted was still on
his hard drive. Now I am wondering about mine. I do edit the registry all
the time I am a music buff I love music and it takes a lot of room--
outside of backing them I have done that but still like to have some on my
hard drive. Many of us do business and transactions on the internet and we
do the same of cleaning out our cache etc its really not deleted is it!....
How can I use the same method editing dos using Windows 2000 pro I have
been in there many times but I can only go through safe mode at the dos
prompt. There is dos in accessories but I am wondering if that is the true
dos. I typed cmd.exe I got the same info in both. Another thing I would like
is a good book on windows 2000 pro-- that covers everything Any
suggestions? I have win 95, win 98, win Me manuals in bookform from QUE -- I
have not seen one yet for Windows 2000 pro. I would appreciate any
suggestions those using windows 2000 or pro In lieu of Microsoft's
continuous big boo-boos in breaching security--we are all at risk.. By the
way after I finished editing in dos his Windows and programs have a lot
of zip<G> Jackie
