The simplest way to use cd-r for storage, be it jpg or mp3 etc is to create
a directory (folder) on your computer, chuck all your files in there you
want to save, then when it gets to cd size burn it onto a cd-r as just
data, no messing around with multisessions, direct cd or any other stuff
like that. it's readable in most (all) cd-readers and you don't need any
special software to view it's contents
also
seeing you are dealing with pictures have a look at one of these burning
programs that can make a video slideshow cd (winoncd is one) these are
viewable on most DVD players that can handle VCD, I've made some and they
turn out great, but i still just do a data backup as well.
