[pchelpers] dues etc. payment with credit cards for website

Hi All, 
   
  I am the webmaster for two organizations with websites.  To name them here 
will cause this to show up in the search engines and that is not the purpose of 
my query.
   
  One of the organizations is considering having dues paid with a mastercard 
and visa as well as check.  We hope this will increase our membership.
   
   
  Does the URL have to be changed from http to https?  We want people to be 
able to explore our website without any restriction except for credit card use. 
  An open website except for credit cards will do more to increase membership 
that have to immediately sign in.  Otherwise people will not bother.
  
Does the company that processes the credit cards provide the HTML or other 
code?  \
