I forgot to add that the easiest way to do your house cleaning now is to
simply make a new folder and then drag the messages you want to save
into it. If you make regular backups of your email, there is no need to
save emails as separate files elsewhere on your hard drive. Email
messages are a pain to open and organise outside of an email program.
It's much better to have important messages in (a) separate folder(s),
where you can quickly find and view them using the preview pane and
quick search function and color tags etc. inside Thunderbird.

And if you want to make a backup copy, simply copy the relevant file
that contains that entire folder by going into your profile. Info on the

Good advice is like good paint- it only works if applied.
