[pchelpers] comparable to "Access"?

This is regarding my friend that was trying to get BASE in Open Office 
to print.
I gave my friend all the emails that you sent showing the forums and 
'support' and so forth for Open Office.
He's running the latest version, on a new xp home laptop.  He just 
called and still can't figure out how to make it print in BASE.  He 
finally got the print icon he said but could not get it to print out.

He needs something that is compatable with with Microsoft Access.  He 
needs it to print.  He needs it yesterday if you get my drift.   

So, can anyone recommend *another* free program he can try since he's 
basically in the frame of mind to give up on Open Office since he can't 
seem to understand how to get his databases to print out using it?

(He called Microsoft today and they are coming out with a new version of 
Office in November so he may buy that in November he said in a 
frustrated tone... but meanwhile he wants to print out his data.  If he 
gets a program that he can use he probably won't spend the money on 
Microsoft.)
