Hi Eric,
Chkdsk runs automatically if Windows believes that the computer was
shut down while files were open that had been written to but the data
hadn't been saved to the drive yet. Apparently there is a flag on
each partition which is set as soon as there is data ready to write,
and is cleared as soon as all of the data is written -- or -- the file
is closed (I'm not sure which).
Does that give you any ideas? Did you change the file system? What
program did you use to resize?
If you have room, you might try saving all of the files from F:,
removing and re-creating F:, then put the files back, then doing the
same for G:, to see if that helps. Watch for System and Hidden files
and folders, since Windows ignores them unless you specifically force
it to pay attention to them.
