Thanks a million. I am back in business. It worked!
I opened the CD ROM drive the way you suggested. Wow, that was easy. I am
going to file your instructions for future reference. I took the CD out and
put the WT Library back in. Then I started the computer. The drive door
opens and closes normally now.
Thank you very much. I was worried. Now I can do my study and research. What
did we ever do before the WT Library? I remember well. My desk was full of
indexes and books and volumes.
Happy again in Niagara Falls,

To Manually open a C.D. player:
1) shut down the computer.
2) straighten a metal paperclip.
3) find the tiny round hole on the front of the c.d. player. (on the front
of the tray, or just below the tray)
4) push the paperclip straight in the hole.
When you get it in far enough you will feel friction as if a small gear
is turning. In fact, that is what you are doing. Repeat step 4 until the
tray is out far enough to grab it with your fingers and pull it open the
rest of the way.
5) restart the computer, Hope the tray closes automaticly during startup.
WARNING! If it will not open there may be a real problem. Be prepared to
have to open it manualy again to get your W.T. Lib. out.
