Your first statement is rather confusing. A CD doesn't spin like a harddrive?
They both spin in a circular fashion and the laser is irrelevant. According
to what I've read, a REALLY fast CD-ROM spinning a warped CD can cause it to
"explode." The centrifugal force of a fast (>=52x) cd-rom drive is quite
high. So, I'm assuming in Jackie's situation, the CD was most likely slightly
warped.
