Even cashier's checks, travellers checks, money orders, and "You May
Have Already Won!!!!!!!!!!" checks can bounce. For that kind of money,
for a suspicious order, you might hand-carry the payment to the bank
and ask them to, first, confirm that they are valid, and second,
notify you when they clear completely. Then ship the stuff.
I would decline a request to direct deposit the money.
Your bank probably has a fraud investigator or fraud department who
can tell you what to look for.
