Sorry about that. It's a technical problem and I tend to answer that 
way. DHCP is a system where the router assigns a network address to each 
system using it each time it wants access to the internet. It saves some 
complex configuration work on your part, and makes it harder for 
outsiders to hack into your system (as the address is always changing). 
This is set up in the control panel/Network area on older windows 
versions, or by right clicking on the network connection (blinking 
screen in the bottom corner) on XP systems. Select the TCP/IP protocol, 
right click and choose Properties. That's where you will find the 
settings. Once you can see them, you should know if Scott was right.
