[pchelpers] antispyware with real-time protection for Windows 98

Hi Pc

Those are not good enough anymore, even for cleaning, and they don't
provide real-time protection, unless you have the pay version of
Ad-aware. Actually, Spybot has the geeky TeaTimer, but it's pretty
useless, especially for normal users. SpywareBlaster is great but not
comparable to the protection provided by a program actively monitoring
the computer for spyware as all normal antivirus programs do for viruses.

The problem is that there are only 3 free antispyware programs with
real-time protection, and both Windows Defender and Spyware Terminator
are not for Win98. But you're in luck, BOClean
www.comodo.com/boclean/supboc.html and WinPatrol
http://www.winpatrol.com/download.html both run in Windows 98 and may be
enough to prevent most infections.

They don't really have any protection; they only have programs that
provide passive scans and passive protection. Install BOClean and
WinPatrol to reduce your visits by at least half.

Try installing the Firefox theme that makes it look like IE, make
Firefox the default browser, and say IE's been updated :-) That's a
white lie necessary to protect these people against their bad habits of
hurting themselves and wasting your time.

Many kinds of Linux are as easy to use as Windows, especially for
playing Yahoo games and browsing, which seems to be all these people do.

I'm sure you prefer its temporary smell in your garage to breathing the
smell and smoke of their apartment for hours, not to mention the huge
amount of wasted time watching the scans run.

See! Who says an old dog can't learn any new tricks?

Good advice is like good paint- it only works if applied.
