Hi Louis,
The *.PF files are prefetch files; they are not executable. Renaming
a *.PF file should not have such an effect.
I recall reading that the latest version of the Microsoft Malicious Software
Removal Tool
removes this pest; check the date on c:\windows\system32\mrt.exe to
see if it's dated this year, then run it.
