Hi Scott
> I saw this article today,
I guess you meant this one:
http://www.windowsitpro.com/Article/ArticleID/96601/96601.html
Which is apparently summarising this report:
http://www.xitimonitor.com/en-us/browsers-barometer/firefox-july-2007/index-1-2-3-102.html
Even more interesting is this one:

Browser War: FF2 pulls ahead of IE7 in Europe

Actually, i just sit and watch the wild pace of development here in
Finland. Most of my efforts to tell people about open source
alternatives have been directed to hinterlanders outside Finland. Once i
complained to the Finnish tax authorities that their website was broken
in Firefox and Opera, and they soon fixed it...
I'm purposely usually a few years behind the average Finn in buying any
new technology, which means i don't pay outrageous prices for stuff that
doesn't work yet and still get most new technology a few years ahead of
the average European and US American.
It's fun living in a country of technology buffs, especially since Finns
are not interested only in gadgets and don't neglect other aspects of
culture. Finns are for example also worldwide number one or two in
library use, newspaper reading, music school enrollment, scholastic
achievement, first widespread adoption of mobile phones, the Internet,
text messages, and other technologies, etc. It's also no coincidence
that Linux was started in Finland by a Finn.
I last posted about this topic in May 2005, when Firefox use in Finland
was already at 30.9%:

It's about 5,3 million, in other words about one thousandth of the
world's population. But they've succeeded in producing the world's
biggest mobile phone company and the first challenger to Windows with a
chance of succeeding, so it's no wonder they're number one in Firefox
use too.
