[pchelpers] Re: Wordpad re-install

I'm a little confused because the windows setup should know where to find
everything!

I guess it can't find the path because of the way windows was pre-installed.
You may be able to get somewhere with a fresh install. This could cause
problems!!! I have re-installed W98 over an existing installation in the
past, and had no trouble. It remembered all my settings and all my
programs. I did not have to re-instal any other program. And all my
windows problems were fixed. To do this you may have to boot from the cd or
you may be able to run the setup.exe on the cd. On my W98 cd, the setup
file is in the root of the cd but on my bootable W98SE cd, it is in a folder
called win98.

Of course, a fresh instal may trash everything you have, certainly it will
if it thinks it needs to format your drive!

Cheers
Nigel
