[pchelpers] Windows XP Home Validation Problem

When I re installed Windows XP Home  Microsoft would not at first validate it 
to give me SP 2.   I was lucky I was using Compaq OEM  since from a Compaq  
Menu  there was a validation item.  Before re installation I had the following 
problems:
   
  * Globalscape  CuteFTP would not install.
  * Office 97 corrupted.
  * Verizon DSL wanted me to insert a disk
  * SmartBridge problem and even though IE 7 beta 2  was un installed there may 
still have been issues
   
  I still have my scanner and PC  tuner to install.  And find the darn disks 
(although the lastest files for  Hauppauge is on the Web).   I may purchase 
Scansoft Version 11.   Version 10 is giving me problems.
   
  Meanwhile after re installation shut down and start up is faster.  I thought
