System Restore does not put programs back that you've uninstalled - the
only thing it restores is the registry settings from the date you choose.

There is no harm in trying a restore operation - if it doesn't help, you
can always go back to today's settings. But if you have problems with a
program, the normal and usually only way to fix it is to reinstall it.
It's usually best to first uninstall the old version, but sometimes that
doesn't work and you have no choice but to first install a new or same
version on top of the corrupted version.

Both AOL and McAfee are really bad programs. Why on earth would you want
to use them?

Good advice is like good paint- it only works if applied.
