I have not been able to find out why my restore points keep coming up
missing. In my research I learned that this usually happens when one has
run out of disk space or installs a service pack. I have plenty of disk
space (78GB) and I am not installing service packs. My symptoms are I
make a restore point or several restore points, then when I reboot the
computer the restore points are gone. I can't figure why my system
thinks I don't have enough disk space to save my restore points. Does
Vista have a system file checker?

Good advice is like good paint- it only works if applied.
