[pchelpers] Re: Windows 2000 guru needed

Hi Scott, I just have Norton Antivirus. I learned long ago not to install
Norton products on my system unless it was just NAV. Too many conflicts. I
will try disabling it though next time I try banking. That may help.

This is a home computer so we can access the administrative features.

My other computer is Windows 95 and it works fine with the bank and yes it?s
the same ISP. I?ve tried comparing the two dialup configurations and for the
most part they appear the same, although there?s a lot more settings in 2000
that are not in 95, and I?m not sure what should be checked and what should be
unchecked. I guess that?s a problem area right there.

To Jackie: I will be downloading sp3 this weekend at a friend?s house (with a
fast internet connection) so hopefully a few of the bugs will be worked out
after it?s installed. By the way, just a side note, I read somewhere that sp3
was designed to fix some of the bugs that were created in sp1 and sp2. Lol!
So much for fixes! No wonder sp3 is 25 megs! And yes I am virus free and I
don?t have a firewall (sounds like they?re too much trouble for what they?re
worth) ;-) Enjoyed that Win 2000 security article. Thanks for passing it
along.

Good advice is like good paint- it only works if applied.
