[pchelpers] Re: Windows 2000 guru needed

Hi Susan,

Try checking the internet security settings on the new machine. I think you
may need cookies, signed ActiveX controls, and/or Java/JavaScript enabled.
You could also try (temporarily) enabling unsigned ActiveX controls.

You may even be able to check the online banking website to see if there are
any suggestions in there about what needs to be enabled.

Regards,

Bevan Edwards

problem I keep experiencing. I frequently do online banking but I can't
access my bank account at all with this new system. I try to log in and
nothing happens. The new page attempts to load and then just quits.
Finally I just get a "time out" error. I can log into the bank on my old
Windows 95 computer with no problems at all. I have the latest browser
installed (IE 6) on my new machine so that shouldn't be the problem. Could
this have something to do with the built-in firewall, or my
networking/dial-up configurations? This problem is not just restricted to
banking but usually any place where secure information is being transmitted.
