Why not get the answer directly form the horse's mouth, especially since 
you have the pay version, which includes both email and phone support, 
not to mention the forum:

When you phone or email, you should also complain that the forum search 
is broken. Searching for "defender" produces tons of results without 
that word in it, and the advanced search's "match all words" function is 
  also broken (try "Windows Defender").

You can instead waste a lot of time by asking people like me who just 
guess around, although Susan's guess is very good and usually solves the 
most common cause of Windows update problems.

might also help, but it will probably be even more tedious.
