          I have been using drive-select ever since the P3 on our computers.
I don't think we are 'name-brand' :-)  A lot of motherboard boards didn't
support it befor that , but didn't have anything to do with the hdd's.  You
don't need a name brand computer.

Actually, all the DMA66 80 pin cables had that hole.  It wasn't until we
went to the ATA100 boards that the hole disappeared.  It didn't have
anything to do with HPs, but a ground wire that controlled the flow.  Don't
know how just the observation in putting them together.  I have uses mostly
WD drives but have used some Seagate and Fijitsu drives on those cables and
they worked at ATA66.
