Hi George,
I've seen similar problems, which I've resolved by using static IP,
but that eliminates some of the benefits of wireless, in some
situations.
If you are using XP:
1. Go to start, programs, accessories, command promtt.
2. type IPCONFIG /ALL
3. go to control panel, network connections (or whatever name is),
view the properties, edit the TCP/IPv4, set it to static IP, and enter
the values that you see on the CMD window.
Once you do this, don't expect to easily use the laptop in another
location; you'll have to remember to change it back.
The wireless phone thing that Re-Na found is interesting; if this
might be the problem, moving the phones and wireless router to
opposite ends of the frequency range might help. The phones probably
have a switch somewhere, and the router is usually controlled via a
web page.
