The place to start here must be the physical condition of your files. 
Start with My Computer. Highlight the drive with your operating system 
on it and right click. Go down the menu to properties and click. Then 
click the Tools tab and then the "Check now" button. Let it do all the 
maintainance it wants.

Once windows reappears after that, put in your windows CD and go to 
Start, Run and type in "SFC /SCANNOW"

Once that completes, go to Registry Mechanic (if you have it) and repair 
the registry. After that we can talk again.
