Yes I do that.
But I only do it as a last resort.
I would have to carry the drive home and then back to work again.
I did that once a long time ago and when I fire up the scanning
computer it wanted to know if I wanted to format the new drive.
The drive no longer had anything on it. Not even my file recovery programs
could find anything.
So now I'm very careful about doing that. LOL
