If you are not confident of the results, this would be a good time to
consider the passive scan technique. If you can't remember how to do it,
please read below:
1) Disconnect the hard drive (power off).
2) Connect the drive as a secondary/slave to another system with
antivirus/spyware scanners. This renders any infection accessible
without any active nasties.
3) Use the master system (host machine) to scan the passive secondary drive.
That should give it a good clean out (if the scanning program is any good).
4) When complete, repeat scan to ensure it is clean.
5) When finished, shut down and restore connections to their original
positions.
After that, start up and test.
