It can see the updates and tells me that I have 129 updates, but it 
can't download them as they
all fail in the download process.
But the reason for using linux is now gone.
I couldn't get Vuze to work right in Win7 on this computer.
But I found the problem was that I had to right click the icon and click 
"run as an Administrator"
for it to work. Now I'm happy.
