there is no new drive letter on my PC it seems to be broken components. There
is a lot of data on the drive. So it was formatted and partitioned. I trash
it and dump the cables in another place. The apartment house porters just take
this stuff away. There is little risk that my data is exposed. And it is just
a lot of innocuous stuff. - Gerald

Do not toss the drive. I suspect it may have something in the
latest Windows update that may have affected USB Drives and DVD
Writers. No time to look into it right now but if you have a chance you
might check out the WEB. Also am having trouble with my USB drive on the
XP machine and the drive is definitely not bad.

Cy. I tried my drive on my Windows Vista notebook. The notebook
stalled too. I then lost my wifi connection but managed to restore by
shutting off the ethernet modem for twenty seconds. Enough trouble for
one evening. - Gerald

Good advice is like good paint- it only works if applied.
