[pchelpers] Toshiba Satellite L45 with battery removed

First I think John is correct that this model dissipates heat by
surface convection conduction. and not fan like the Wugnet Forum
said. .
With battery removed the unit does not get so hot and there is
no power drain on the battery.

According to the label on the cardboard box the unit was
manufactured in November 2007. It is not out of date at all.

I have found over the years that manufacturers technical support is
out of touch with the corporation computer design engineers. One
Toshiba tech support had me go into msconfig and disable the entire
Toshiba OS. Then I was to access the web. A tragic joke. I had
her have me restore the OS.

Do you agree that without the battery and on external AC
adapter the unit will stay cooler? I gave up on Wugnet and
Toshiba except when it is obvious the unit needs repair and I
need an authorized case number. - Gerald

Good advice is like good paint- it only works if applied.
