[pchelpers] Re: Timeout using Firefox or IE

Hopefully short of becoming a big pain, I'm looking for any additional 
information that might be available.

Is there an easy way to get a log or list of the files that are opened 
during boot up?
Same system XP Home - Current conditions:
1. If I boot up in Safe mode  I can ping the Internet in a DOS window 
and get a response.
2. In Safe mode I can also Open Firefox or IE and access the Internet.
3. In normal mode, even when I disable all the items in startup using 
msconfig,  access to the Internet fails.

Prior to finding this out I tried a new Ethernet card to no avail. 
Actually both cards work in safe mode.
Appreciate any further words of wisdom you might have
