[pchelpers] Re: The Quality of Printing

Wow Scott, a lot of nice info about the HP printers.

I have an DeskJet 990Cse. I really like the quality of the printing in most
cases.

Since you work on them some, I have a question.

When I print photo's, you see where the roller has been. The paper I have
is a kind of glossy. Not extreme glossy. It looks to me like the roller
has been dragged across the photo some. The quality of the photo is very
good, but that is annoying to me. Could my roller be too tight, or do you
think I need to try different paper?

For those with an HP printer, I found out a very strange thing. I have my
printer now set up with 2 different names. One is HP 990 C, the other is
the HP 990 Cse. I got new drivers from the internet for one of the
settings. And the other one I had it 'look for' my printer. When I am in
Word and do a lot of text printing, and using one, it prints a VERY dark
text, so dark everything looks bold. I'm not wild about it as it does not
look crisp. Using the other default printer, it prints what I would call
normal.

BOTH give me different printer boxes.
One will show me that I can change the way the paper flips. That comes in
handy when the printer starts out of the blue printing the back sides of all
the pages upside down.

The other setting, the printer properties box that comes up doesn't show
that. If it's there, I sure can't find it. Everthing in that printer
properties box is nothing like the other one. I find that strange.
Especially since that's the setting I prefer to use, and when it out of the
blue starts printing the back side of the page upside down, it's very
frustrating when I can't figure out how to change it.

Anyway. Just wanted to throw that in about my HP printer.

Good advice is like good paint- it only works if applied.
