[pchelpers] Taking the load off the inbox

A further point on Re-Na's question:- If you want to take the load off
the inbox and avoid file corruption, then create sub folders for
messages. The good part about that is you can create as many as you like
and spread the email load over them.

The trick is then to automatically file messages according to whatever
system you want. I have PC Helpers messages under my pchelpers folder
divided up by message subject, and occasionally by age. In Thunderbird
you can do this by first highlighting a folder (pchelpers), then right
click and choose "New Subfolder". You can name it according to whatever
you want to put there.

Once it is created, go to Tools, then Filters and create a filter to
direct the desired messages there (rules are used for Outlook). When
complete, try going to Tools and click "Run filters on folder". The
filter should then move all matching messages to your intended folder.
New messages that match this filter should all be sent there (unless
another filter acts on them first).

This way the volume and kludge is kept under control. Note: If any
folder contains over 1000 messages and keeps growing it is prime for
corruption problems. To avoid this, create new filters to more
specifically divide the messages into new folders. You should find your
mail much easier to work with (and to find).
