That model is not listed at 
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ipaq#HP_iPAQ_rx4000.2C_rx3100.2C_rx3400_and_rx3700_series
 
but similar ones even have Bluetooth connectivity.

Why?

Is the mechanical sliding problem the only thing wrong with your current 
keyboard?

I see no reason why we shouldn't be able to get rid of the sliding 
problem or find a new and better keyboard for you.
