[pchelpers] Re: System Restore broken

Cy,
It has taken a while to answer because I just learned the hard way that
one shouldn't become one of the first to install a new service pack. I
thought it might solve my problem if I installed service pack 1. The
service pack got to 99% complete and then hung up and re-booted over and
over again and I couldn't get the use of my computer back no matter what
I tried. I might have gotten out of this mess if I had system Restore
working but that was why I was installing the stupid service pack in the
first place--my system restore wasn't working. So Tech support walked me
through how to re-install Vista. A hard lesson learned. The bright side
is at least my System Restore works now. But I don't know for how long
since I have no clue as to how it got turned off in the first place.

Good advice is like good paint- it only works if applied.
