[pchelpers] Still partly off line

It seems weird things are the rule here at present. After being unable
to access the internet for more than a day, I dis covered by accident
that the Ubuntu system can get on line.

Thanks to all those who have offered help. So far the problem seems to
affect only the windows machines. In a bid to get in contact with you
all, I reversed the IP update so that this is likely coming via the
original ISP.

The network systems here still have real problems trying to use the
broadband network via the Motorolla SB5101 Surfboard cable modem. Still
looking for clues...
