Actually it is even better than that. When you install it, update, then 
run it once. It goes over the registry to turn OFF all entries connected 
with spyware. After that such programs won't run on your copy of Windows 
even if you install them. Any updating you do simply increases the 
library of blocked applications (known baddies). Once done the 
protection provided is entirely passive. Windows runs normally with the 
exception of the nasties.
