I have XP on my personal computer, but when I work on someone elses's
computer that has Win98, I always suggest once a week and with Win98
it's easiest to use the Maintenance Wizard. Usually, those whose
computer I'm working on would get very confused if I gave your Top Ten
List (actually 7) to them. I try to educate them, but I have become the
personal computer problem fixer for a ton of folks. I don't mind, but it
is amazing that those 7 points you mentioned...... well, most folks
don't have clue as to what they would do if they had to do them, I guess
they don't use their computer for enough serious reasons to get serious.
Quite honestly, I rarely do them in safe mode, I agree it would be
better to do it that way.

Good advice is like good paint- it only works if applied.
