[pchelpers] Something not right

I just switched over from a AMD 64 bit 754 pin to the 939 pin this weekend.
I got the Giga-byte GA-K8NF-9
I did a clean install of XP Pro with SP2
And something isn't right about my system
First of all it seems like it is slow. I can double click an icon and
then sit back and wait for something to open.
Window keeps saying that the firewall is turned off. But checking in
control panel shows it to be turned on.
You know about the trouble I'm having with Sygate now. I did everything
mentioned and still it can't remember
my settings.
My new Double layer DVD burner will no longer burn without errors
My Stamps.com software wouldn't print anymore.
My AVI to MPG converter won't work any more "Exception EInvalidOp In
Module libmd-3.1.1.dll at 00076E34.
Invalid Floating point Operation."
I use MailWasher pro and when i press the process mail button that takes
me to my mail program, it takes 5 min
for the program to open.
I havn't yet got all my programs re-installed so I don't know yet what
else won't work.
I wonder if things would run better with the Window xp pro 64 bit
edition. I still can get it in exchange for my 32 bit
XP Pro for the cost of shipping. Only problem is my Tv capture card.
They will not be making any 64 bit drivers for it
and I do not want to buy another card.

Another thing
When I went to down load the Sun Java I saw a Sun Jave AMD64 edition. I
wasn't sure if this was for
if your were running the Windows 64 bit software or if you were running
a 64 bit cpu. I downloaded
the reg version. Who knows this could be most of my problems.

Good advice is like good paint- it only works if applied.
