[pchelpers] Re: Self-contained wireless optical mouse

It IS wireless; the USB connector is entirely separate. They simply
designed it small enough that it can be stored within a cavity in the
mouse itself, suitable for travelling. See the picure on the site.

You can see the button on the side that I mentioned. Picking up the
mouse and pressing the button firmly causes a flap to fall open,
revealing the storage area for the receiver, so that it can be stored
away for travelling. People who are accusomed to ball mice may have
trouble comprehending the idea of a relatively huge empty space inside
a mouse, but optical mice are so simple that it's easily done.

If you mean why call it wireless if you have to plug in the receiver,
well, everything has a receiver. A wireless network connection for a
laptop uses either a PCMCIA card that plugs into the laptop, or a
built-in receiver. I suspect that sooner or later we'll see computers
with built in receivers for wireless keyboards and mice.

Good advice is like good paint- it only works if applied.
