Ok, I'm sure I'm not the only person to ever look for a solution to this
problem.
I'm looking for a tool that will analyze a program and give a list of
what minimum security permissions need to be set in order for that
program to run. Ideally, it would create a security template file which
could be applied.
I've spent several days looking, and the closest thing that I can find
so far is the Windows XP Application Compatibility Toolkit.
Background: I have a need to set up users with Restricted User access,
but a number of legacy programs will not run under the default security
settings for that access level.
Another option would be a way to allow a specific program to have Power
User access. I know that you can use the RunAs command, but that
requires that the user type in a user name and password of an account
with Power User access, which obviously defeats the purpose, since the
user could just simply log on with that name and password.
