[pchelpers] Re: SFC

SFC stands for System File Checker. I use it on Win 98 regularly. It
does a comparison between Windows system files (all those really vital
ones), and those on your CD, or in your set of CAB files. It works out
if any of them have been changed or tampered with.

That's often the case where spyware or virus activity is going on. I'm
still fighting a battle with whatever alters my winsock.dll file. SFC
fixes it every time by replacing it with the original copy. It keeps the
system running like it should.

Don't know if it is on SE (should be). To find out, go to Start/Run and
in the box type SFC then run that.
