My interpretation is that an SDTV receiver will not necessarily be
able to handle an HDTV signal, but an HDTV receiver will probably be
able to handle an SDTV signal; you probably should check the specs
before buying.

I fail to understand why everyone is selling so much stuff that will
supposedly be useful only for special purposes in a year.
