I thought you were using "SDTV" to refer to analog NTSC broadcasts.  A
quick look at
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Standard-definition_television cleared
that up for me.

Existing VCRs and DVDs will still work fine. So, if you have a TV that
you use just for kids to watch movies on, you can keep using it.
Non-US satellite broadcasts will presumably still work fine also.

If you get cable or satellite, you might ask the company.  I'd like to
know the answer also.
