[pchelpers] Read only persisting

Here is an interesting conundrum. A drive has come in for anti virus
scan. It connected and scanned fine except for 1 thing. One remaining
infection exists under c:\Documents and Settings\forbes.
The odd thing is normally this would be a simple matter to turn off the
read only attribute, delete the infection and put the read only setting
back.
What happens instead is the read only unsets. Then a moment later upon
checking the folder it is back! This happens no matter what I do (short
of formatting the drive). Hence the scan cannot clean it.
Would appreciate your suggestions...
