I might actually have a cd that came with this keyboard but it was an  
annoyance if I'm remembering correctly, and I cannot remember if the F8 worked  
when 
I had my Compaq keyboard.
 
My present keyboard is by Logitech; can't find the cd.

Yes,  I remember you mentioning that before.  I still don't know the
regular  methods don't work for you, aside, perhaps, from it being
Windows  ME.
