Yes, it's a good idea to get as much RAM as possible because that gives
you the most punch for your money, unless you need or unless it makes
more sense to get a new computer soon anyhow. However, unless you're
upgrading to XP or have some other reason to get a new computer, getting
more RAM can cover up other problems you may have. Don't skip the step
of checking to see if you have unnecessary programs running in the
background. Did you see this part of my post?:

What antitrojan program did you use? The two antispyware programs you
mentioned, Ad-Aware and Spybot, are good but not enough. Check
http://www.local.nu/HelpDesk/index.php/Anti-spyware_software for more info.

Sorry, forgot to add that. Scott explained how to do that, and if you
run into problems, you can find more specific directions for your
computer on what keys to press and when by looking in your computer's
help file.
